George lIl mahogany swinger shield dressing mirror on a serpentine box stand (c. 1790)
Mahogany swinger shield dressing mirror on a serpentine box stand with divided drawer and ogee bracket feet. The center drawer is fitted with an bone key escutcheon and is flanked by smaller drawers each fitted with turned bone knobs. The shield shaped mirror is cross banded in Brazilian rosewood and is supported by shaped stanchions which terminate in scrolls with turned bone rosettes. The mirror and drawers are edged with contrasting holly stringing. George lll period in a classic George Hepplewhite design.
