Etching of an industrial landscape by Auguste Brouet (c. 1925)
A very richly printed etching of an industrial site. Archival mount and framed. Auguste Brouet studied in Paris in the late 1880’s and followed with a career in book illustration. Though a classical traditionalist, his work is noted by an expressive looseness in the drawing together with an effective use of light that give a freshness to his work. His work was widely appreciated in France and America in the post WWI period.
