English Sheffield decanter coaster (1820)
Sterling silver plated copper Sheffield decanter coaster. The coaster is stamped with a Neoclassic anthemion decoration on the pierced gallery below a gadroon molding. A turned wood base is fitted to the bottom of the coaster. A set of three hallmarks are stamped on the side of the base but are illegible.
Sheffield, England, circa 1820.
Condition: Silver plating has worn off in some areas and the copper base shows through. Wear commensurate with age and use.
