Boston bell metal lemon top andirons (c. 1790)
Pair of American cast bell metal brass lemon top andirons. The fire dog balusters are cast in three parts with an oval lemon form finial on waisted pedestal atop a doric column on a square plinth. The arched legs with spurs rest on refined slipper feet, peened to a forged iron log rest.
American, Boston, circa 1790.
Condition: Wear commensurate with age and use.
