Vintage George III mahogany and pine lolling chair frame on square front legs with rope carved detail. The rear legs are deeply raked, which balance the rear legs with the cant of the chair back. The chair back is framed with a shallow serpentine crest rail and is upholstered with its original horse hair fill. The boxed stretchers on the sides and across the middle are pierced with an alternating pattern. The molding on the sloping arm supports repeats the rope carved detail on the front legs.
