English Queen Anne cast brass candlestick (c. 1770)
Cast brass Queen Anne candlestick with a knobbed stem below a candle cup with plain edge bobeche. The knob has a soft six facets above a tapered turning to a secondary knob supported by a scalloped edge circular base. The six larger scallops are interrupted by a smaller demi-lune. The candle shaft is fitted with an internal push up candle ejector.
Birmingham, England, circa 1770.
Condition: Fine original condition, as made. Surfaces have been cleaned and hand polished. Wear commensurate with age and use.
