Two pages from "I Quattro libri dell'architettura" by Andre Palladio (c. 1715-20)
Two framed pages of architectural details from book four of Andrea Palladio's "I quattro libri dell'architettura" (The Four Books of Architecture), the Giacomo Leoni edition. The pages are labeled XI and XII, respectively. A copy of the frontispiece of the book is attached to the back of each frame. It reads:
"L'architecture de A. Palladio, livre quatrieme: premiere partie, dan lequel on trainte des Anciens Temples qui font a Rome & de quelques autres qu'on voit encore en Italie & ailleurs.
Le tout revu, deffine & nouvelle mis au jour par Jacques Leoni, Venitien, Architiecte de S.A.S. L'electeur palatin. Traduit de l'Italien."
