Italian polished pewter ice pail with drop ring handles by La Bottega del Peltro (1970's)
Italian pewter ice pail with drop ring handles. The beaded lip rests above an incised band which creates a base for the attachment of the drop ring handles. There are also three incised lines at the middle of the tapered pail above an incised line and beaded foot.
Stamped on the underside: two faded Reutlinger Englisch Zinn marks, a "GT" stamp over 3 mountains, and a "SN 95%" stamp indicating the tin content. The trademark of La Bottega del Peltro is the GT stamp. This touchmark carries the initials of Giorgio Tabellini, founder of La Bottega del Peltro in 1970. The three mountains featured in the stamp are inspired by the coat of arms of the Municipality of Bagolino, a medieval town in Northern Italy which was home to the Bottega del Peltro workshop.
