Bombay shaped English pearlware tea caddy (c. 1780)
Bombay shaped English pearlware tea caddy with a distinctive decoration in cobalt blue. The caddy is hand decorated with floral pendants draped from rings painted from a continuous line which traces the edges of the shoulder of the caddy below the cylindrical neck. The caddy is fitted with a replaced turned hardwood lid.
England, circa 1780.
Condition: There is a chip to a bottom corner but the piece is in otherwise good condition. Wear commensurate with age and use.
