Philadelphia Chippendale mahogany slip seat side chair by Thomas Tuft. The chair crest rail and back splat are carved with rococo detail, and the chair rests on square ended out legs joined by an “H” stretcher. The slip seat has been upholstered in blue wool damask. This chair has the same format and carved details as the Thomas Tuft chair in the permanent collection at Winterthur.

Condition: Overall good condition. Some stains and marks to the upholstery. Marks and wear throughout commensurate with age.
