Delft faience bulb vase attributed to De Metaale Pot (c. 1690-1725)
Delft faience bulb vase attributed to the De Metaale Pot Factory. The vase is decorated with four distinct hand painted Chinoiserie scenic panels in cobalt under glaze blue. The flaring rim is painted with an eight banana leaf border above a floral and scroll work bulb, a decoration repeated on the shoulder of the body of the vase. Between the bulb and the body of the vase is an elongated neck decorated in a repeat of the banana leaf motif. The main body of the vase rests on an octagonal base, decorated with alternating banana leaf and pierced scroll work devices.
Note: there have been repairs to the body of the vase and there is a hole in the base.
Dutch, circa 1690-1725.
Condition: There is a hole in the base and the piece has been repaired. Wear commensurate with age and use.
