Cast brass Queen Anne candlestick, 1750
English Georgian cast brass Queen Anne candlestick. The candlestick shaft has a knob directly under the candle cup with a scolloped bobeshe. The candle cup sits above a slightly tapered cylindrical shaft which is peened to a domed base with scolloped edge mirroring the scollop edge of the bobeshe. The candlestick is fitted with a rare internal screw ejector mechanism.
Birmingham, England, circa 1750.
Condition: Some pitting is evident in the casting along both the candle cup and shaft. Surfaces have been cleaned and hand polished. Wear commensurate with age and use.
