English George II walnut arm chair with upholstered slip seat (c. 1740-60)
George II shepherd's crook arm chair in old-growth mahogany. The pierced back splat is framed between the cupid’s bow crest rail with scroll carved ears and the slip seat shoe. The front cabriole legs terminate in pad feet and the splayed rear legs are joined by a stretcher. The seat has been reupholstered in a silk damask.
England, circa 1740-60.
Condition: Frame has been refinished and is in fine condition. The silk upholstery has some scattered light marks. Wear commensurate with age and use.
