American Chippendale cherry chest of drawers (c. 1770)
American Chippendale chest of four graduated drawers with a divided top drawer. The chest features cherry wood drawer fronts, sycamore sides and top, and tulip poplar secondary wood. The top is mounted with exposed dovetail construction, and the case rests on whale’s tail bracket feet with original corner blocks. The drawers are fitted with cast brass bails and rosette drawer pulls.
