Connecticut Valley rush seat painted Hitchcock side chair (1830)
American Hitchcock rush seat side chair with a tie-on seat cushion. The chair features the original gilt and bronze powder stencil decoration on the double cornucopia back splat as well as a faded floral motif on the front seat rail. The rush seat in in good original condition and has been fitted with a newly upholstered tie-on seat cushion.

Condition: The chair has a chipped front corner to the left side rail (see photo), and the tie-on seat cushion has been recently upholstered. Marks and wear throughout commensurate with age and use.
