American Academic Revival mahogany writing table (1900)
Academic Revival rectangular ribbon figured mahogany writing table in the Hepplewhite style. The table features a long divided apron drawer on four legs which terminate in spade feet. The front legs dies are veneered with contrasting surface mounted figured mahogany race track ovals above the fluted square tapered legs. The legs are joined by a bowed quarter round rear corner element joining the back leg stretcher to the side stretchers. The long apron drawer is fitted with its original pierced, cast brass, oval back plates with swag pulls.

Condition: The mahogany surfaces have been cleaned and refinished in clear shellac. There are some darker marks in the wood under the finish, but are only visible from certain angles. Wear commensurate with age and use.
