Oval Windsor stool with leather seat (c. 1825-50)
A rare oval shaped Windsor footstool with an upholstered leather seat and splayed bamboo turned hardwood legs joined by "H" stretchers. The brass upholstery tacks and leather are replacements in the original tacking holes on the cove cut edge of the oval pine top.
American, probably Rhode Island, circa 1825-50.
Condition: Leather seat and tacking have been replaced. Wear commensurate with age and use.
