Pair of Chinese Elm stools in the Ming taste (1850's)

Pair of Chinese elm wood stools in the Ming taste. The stools feature frame and panel constructed tops with a waisted apron above continuous hump back rails, joined by four turned, straight legs.

China, made for the Chinese domestic market, mid 19th century.

Condition: The stools retain their original finish with some fading of the top and shrinkage of the central panel. All surfaces cleaned and polished. Wear commensurate with age and use.
