Large circular hand caned Nantucket harvest basket with a pair of hand carved oak handles which project above the rattan rim of the basket. The circular base is a single piece of walnut and the circular under foot is tacked along the edge with iron pins. Steel slotted screws are placed at measured intervals next to the tacking, possibly at a later date. Some breakage and scattered loss of the bamboo weave. Very deep rich color. Wear consistent with age and use.
