American Hepplewhite side board of mahogany and matched figured mahogany veneers. Northern White Pine secondary wood. The cabinet retains its original stamped brass oval back plates & cast bails. The case is centered on a lunette opening with tambour sliding doors below a long drawer flanked by ovolo corners and shallow drawers over blind cabinet doors. The case is supported by four square tapered legs across the front and a leg on each back corner.

The sideboard carries a history as the "Haven" sideboard, as it was made for William Haven of Portsmouth, NH (circa 1800-1810). The piece descended through the George Cutter family (great grand son of William Haven) from 1835 to the 21st century.
