Three panel folding screen with French costume prints (c. 1900-30)
Three panel, double hinged, folding screen mounted with early 19th century French decoupaged costume prints of aristocratic women of the 14th century by copperplate engraver George Jacques Gatine (1773-1824). The print subjects are in the taste of the Romantique Revival, circa 1820. The decoupage prints and hand-painted diapered border and lower reserve are later.
Circa 1900-1930.
Condition: Good condition. Some stress on the the lower panels (see photos). Marks and wear commensurate with age and use.
