China trade ceramic plate (c. 1800's)
Porcelain blue and white export dish. The dish with lobed rim and decorated with blue Fitzhugh-style border, and an internal border with diamond and quatrefoil lozenge diaper band surrounding a blue Willow scene with bridge and pavilion. The simplified and less detailed painting of this example suggests a later dating for this piece compared with the late 18th century examples in which the blue is of a darker and more even tone.
China, early 19th century.
