American Neo Classic mahogany wash stand (1825-30)
American Neo Classic mahogany wash stand. The stand has a bowed basin shelf, apron, and scroll cut splash above a lower shelf with drawer mounted, paired, and stamped gilt brass drop ring pulls. The upper shelf is supported by dramatically carved “S” scrolls, creating the sides of the cabinet. The upper shelf has a circular opening for a basin, which has been fitted with a solid mahogany cover, in addition to two flanking holes to receive a cup or a mug. The piece rests on turned legs. Spanish cedar secondary wood.
