Pair of rare and exceptionally tall polychrome decorated Rococo Battersea candlesticks. The pair features a white enamel ground over copper, and the knobbed candle shaft, bobeche, and hexagonal lobed base feature hand painted with transfer vignettes of polychrome flowers framed in gilt scroll work. Each color has been individually hand fired, which made the process both time intensive and demanding of the highest level of craftsmanship.

England, South Staffordshire (probably Bilston), circa 1760-65.
