Arts & Crafts upholstered seat armchair attributed to the Tobey Furniture Company (1902)
American Arts & Crafts armchair of stained hard yellow pine with leather upholstered seat. The frame is constructed entirely of 2” x 2” elements with mortice and thru tenons. Note the exposed and beveled tenon ends used as a decorative element in the design of the chair. Attributed to George Clingman for the Tobey Furniture Company line of Russmore Mission furniture.
American, Chicago, after 1902.
Condition: The removable cushion has been newly upholstered. Marks, scuffs, and wear throughout commensurate with age and use.
