American Eastlake upholstered chaise in ebonized walnut with brass casters (1888)
Signed American Eastlake upholstered chaise with an ebonized and reeded maple frame resting on four turned legs fitted with cast brass cup casters. Both sides of the bolster are fitted with round, ebonized panels that match the frame, and feature a hand carved vortex pattern. The chaise has been reupholstered and trimmed with gimp.
Signed on the bolster frame: Made by Charlie Berntson, at (illegible), Aug 30, 1888 (see accompanying photograph of the graphite signature)
