Jennings & Bettridge tilt top tray table (c. 1830)
Rectangular paper mache tea tray table with a flat rim and rounded corners. The tray has a hand painted scrollwork & floral border decoration and is mounted to a Jennings & Bettridge swivel brace ebonized wood stand with gilt stencil decoration.
London, England, circa 1830.
Condition: There are small chips along the edge of the tray lip and marks on the top of the tray. The tray also has a tilt which can be seen from the side profile. The surface levels out under weight. See photos for detail.
