Chinese Famille Verte porcelain vase (1911-1948)
Chinese Famille Verte porcelain sleeve form rouleau vase with six figure mark encircled in double rings in cobalt underglaze blue on the underfoot. The vase is decorated in a continuous scene of figures in a garden landscape, dressed in garments befitting civil officials and soldiers of a Chinese (not Manchu) dynasty. The neck of the vase is decorated in moss covered rocks among chrysanthemums and orchids and painted in famille verte enamels. Two double blue lines are applied on the neck rim and the base with a row of alternating cross hatchings on the shoulder.
China, possibly Republic Period, 1911-1948 or earlier.
Condition: Very good original condition with strong color. Wear commensurate with age and use.
