Contemporary tortoise shell Huang crescent mounted on a silver backing and sterling omega chain with lobster clasp. The Huang crescent is the Chinese ritual symbol of the north. This symbol is one of half a dozen Chinese neolithic ritual forms whose exact function has been lost.
