English cast brass beehive push-up candlestick (c. 1840)
English hollow core cast brass inverted beehive candlestick. The elongated urn form candle cup with bobeshe rests on a short pedestal above a diamond faceted knob. The candle shaft features a waisted interval to an inverted beehive on a conical stepped dome on a footed square base with clipped corners. The candlestick shaft is fitted with an internal push-up candle ejector.
Birmingham, England, circa 1830.
Condition: The candlestick shaft has a slight list. Surfaces have been cleaned and hand polished. Wear commensurate with age and use.
