English cast bell metal Queen Anne baluster shaft candlestick (c. 1750-60)
Hollow core cast bell metal brass Queen Anne candlestick. The candlestick features an elongated candle cup on a waisted turning to a lobed knob. The knob is supported by an inverted trumpet turning on a knob, waist, and corner lobe with side cut base. The suppressed center of the base acted as a drip ring for candle wax.
Birmingham, England, 1750-60.
Condition: Later solder has been added to the seam on the lower shaft at the drip ring. Surfaces have been cleaned and hand polished. Wear commensurate with age and use.
