American Sheraton mahogany four drawer chest (c. 1810)
American Sheraton mahogany chest with graduated cock beaded drawers. The case top bears characteristic Seymour School lunette inlay on the edge of the single board mahogany top. The corners of the case are turreted with ring-turned dies over engaged reeded columns terminating in tall ring and spike turned feet. The legs are joined by a scalloped apron across the front and the sides of the case. The drawers are fitted with replaced oval brasses and bail handles in the original borings which center on cast brass rim key escutcheons.

Condition: All show wood surfaces have been cleaned and shellac polished. Drawer footings and rails have been leveled. New drawer stops have been installed and drawer frames have been squared and glued. Keys and locks have been restored. Brass drawer pulls have been replaced and fitted to the original borings. Piece is in overall excellent condition.
