Samuel Field MacIntire (attributed) mahogany flip top game table (c. 1810-15)
American serpentine flip top mahogany game table with ovolo cut corners on turreted leg dies. Attributed to Samuel Field MacIntire, Salem, Massachusetts. The table has a conforming apron of matched figured mahogany veneers framed by engaged acanthus carved turreted corners with star punch work ground. The frame is supported by four turned, taper cut reeded legs which terminate in ring and spike feet on original fire gilt cast brass acanthus cup castors. Original finish.

Condition: This piece is in overall excellent condition. The table surface shows some wear marks and scuffs from use. Surface chips have been filled and repaired, and a damaged hinge pocket has been repaired, finished, and stabilized. Wear commensurate with age and use.
