Three Women by Harold Altman (1965)
Engraving on paper from Altman's series of works centering on life in Central Park, New York City. The composition shows three women standing in close proximity on a large, featureless foreground. The women are placed just below the intersection of two rows of hedges at different heights in the background, with a very subtle delineation between the figures of the women and the environment behind them. The work has been been mounted in an archival, acid-free deep bevel mat and framed in a cross banded crotch mahogany frame.
Numbered, titled, and signed in graphite across the bottom: 64/112, Three Women, Altman
