Stoneware teapot with spaniel lid finial by Wedgwood (c. 1829)
Slip cast stoneware teapot in a putty colored smear glaze. The teapot features a spaniel finial and heavy Renaissance scrolls of flowers on an overall dimpled ground. Cast from the Wedgwood & Bentley mold of 1775, which was discontinued after 1790 and revived with spaniel finial design in 1829.
Impressed on the underside: 66, Wedgwood

Condition: Some staining and discoloration to the spout. Wear commensurate with age and use.
