English Sheffield hinged lid box (1800's)
English Sheffield hinged lid box with cut corners. The lid and foot of the box are defined by a cast gadroon molding. Hallmarked on the underfoot with a rampant lion.
England, circa 1800's.
Condition: The silver plated surface has mostly worn off, but lends a dynamic patina to the box. Wear commensurate with age and use.
Materials: Silver Plated Copper
Dimensions: 6-1/4" W x 4-3/4" D x 3-1/2" H
