The doors are stepped back over a cabinet with fluted molding above book matched frame and panel, with blind keyed doors. The bookcase is mounted with an entablature in a repeat of the fluted cabinet molding, below a dental course detailed in the broken arch pediment. The interior is fitted with two shelves which are adjustable on the twelve side panel slots. The whole case rests on bold bracket feet.
England, circa 1780.
Condition: All wood surfaces have been cleaned and polished with shellac. Later knobs on the cabinet doors were removed and borings filled.
