Pair of hand colored engravings by Benjamin Fawcett from “A History of British Birds” by Francis Orpen Morris and published by Groombridge & Sons, London. The prints are accompanied on the reverse with the text from Morris' monograph on the related specimen. Fawcett was a color printer, wood-engraver, draughtsman and bookbinder; active in Yorkshire; and from 1844 he collaborated with Reverend Francis Orpen Morris. Both engravings are mounted on an archival deep bevel mats and are framed under UV filtering plexiglass. 

London, England, 1852.

Condition: Engravings are in fine original condition. Works have been mounted with acid-free mats and reframed under UV filtering plexiglass. Wear commensurate with age and use.
