Ettinger studied at Columbia University, National Academy of Design, The Art Students League, and the New York School of Industrial Art, where he later taught. His works can be found in multiple museums, including The Boston Public Library, Ford Foundation, Nelson-Atkins Museum, Museum of the University of Hawaii and Yale University Museum.
