Jennings & Bettridge attributed papier mache tray on hinged tilt top stand (c. 1830)
Shaped papier maché tray mounted on a butterfly hinged tilt top support, based on the French Vendange table mechanism. The black tray has a double border decoration of a gilt anthemion on a yellow ground, and the tray is mounted on its original butterfly bracket base with gilt stencil decorated surface elements. Attributed to Jennings & Bettridge.
London, England, circa 1830.
Condition: The stand has been repaired and all surfaces have been cleaned and polished. There is some slight warping to the tray top but does not affect use (see profile photo for reference). Wear commensurate with age and use.
