Fine miniature portrait on vellum of a red haired woman in a pleated bonnet with matching collar. Framed in an oval format within a scroll work border. Re-mounted in a parcel gilt molding with silk spandrel under UV glass.
Signed by the artist; “Colot, facit.“ and monogrammed with the sitters initials & crest with cornet, and dated 1793.
Colot is a referenced artist in, “Les Peintres en miniature, 1650-1850” (Lemoine-Bouchard, 2008).
